The world’s richest halibut grounds are found just offshore the Keani Peninsula in the waters of Cook Inlet Alaska. Each year, hundreds of these monsters tipping the scales at well over 100 pounds are caught by our enthusiastic anglers. Our fleet of covered saltwater charter vessels (launching from Deep Creek/Ninilchick) are designed to reach the most productive fishing grounds where these barn doors are caught.

For the angler who wants a shot at both King Salmon and Halibut on the same day, we recommend what is becoming the most popular time frame for many of our guests. Beginning the first week of May and extending into the second week of June, King Salmon by the thousands pour into the lower Cook Inlet in search of their home rivers. During this time of year, we start trolling and mooching for King Salmon just offshore until the tide is right for Halibut fishing. We then put away the King gear and head for deep water Halibut action. Weather permitting, you get two trips for the price of one, making this an excellent time to fish the Keani Peninsula.

RAINBOW & DOLLY VARDEN (Keani Peninsula from June 15th to Oct 31st) ...............$225.00 per person

Rated "BEST RAINBOW FISHING I’VE EVER SEEN" by many of our guests, this DELUXE FULL-DAY DRIFT" through the upper Keani River Canyon Wilderness Area is a most enjoyable adventure through clear glacial waters holding Rainbows up to 20 lbs. and fresh, sea run Dolly Varden in record numbers. This trophy only, catch and release outing is available on a limited basis and may be substituted for a day of salmon fishing in your package by adding $100.00 or you may want to add an extra day of Rainbow fishing and lodging to your itinerary. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

We offer our guests a variety of fishing opportunities to enjoy angling in remote rivers and lakes inaccessible by road or foot. Species and costs very depending on the time of year. Flight-seeing and Clam digging are popular side trips.

FISH PROCESSING Your Catch is filleted, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen. It is packaged in airline approved, wax-lined boxes, insulated, strapped, and ready for your departure home. Boxes will not weigh more than 70 lbs. There is a 85 cents charge per pound (whole fish weight) for this service.

Sea Otter Sound Lodge is a premier floating fly-in fishing lodge. In 2006 we were chosen by Alaska Magazine as the destination for mid level pricing in fly-in fishing lodges. Our guests describe our lodge as “magical” and “…this is what I dreamed Alaska would be”. We are located 100 miles by float plane from Ketchikan in an isolated cove on the north side of Heceta Island in Sea Otter Sound.
